Have you ever witnessed a “digital boogerectomy“? I did. I was with my husband one evening at the local pizza/Italian restaurant and it was dinner time and very busy. I happened to look over at a young family sitting a few tables away. There were three kids: a baby in a high chair and a 3 and 5 year old (my best guess for ages).

The parents were busy with the baby and 3 year old so the 5 year old was playing with his food, wiggling in the seat, looking around the restaurant… nothing unusual, pretty normal. Just as I was about to go back to minding my own business, I saw the 5 year old launch his finger into one of his nostrils and proceeded to do some nose mining (I had to keep watching now…I know, I’m a bit twisted). He dug around a little inside (it’s amazing how far his finger went up into his nose!) and then pulled his finger out. And voilà!… there on the tip of his stubby little index finger was a shimmering and slimy nose nugget.

With a smirk on his face and looking quite happy with his new found treasure, he studied it from all angles then started looking around (meanwhile Mom and Dad were still distracted by his siblings). I knew he was searching for a place to unload it. I thought to myself, “Ok, now where is he going to put that?” I hoped he’d take his napkin and wipe it off. But did he do that? Of course not! His little hand disappeared under the table and came back up boogerless! Did he just do what I think he did? He just pulled off what the urban dictionary calls a “stickey sneek”.

So on that note, I dare you to run your hand under the table, chair, or desk you are sitting at right now. Go ahead, just do it! I bet your fingers find one, two, or more tiny pieces of crusty and dried up chunks of nose mucus that have adhered themselves like rubber cement somewhere under there.
