This Maya Angelou quote is pretty darn good advice. So when people show you what type of person they are the first time you meet them, believe it to be their true colors deep down.
Because no matter how talented they are at keeping their actual selves under wrap (or trying to), if you choose to brush off what you really saw in them the first time, it will eventually lead to disappointment and frustration.
Needless to say, you knew (you know you knew) all along that whatever your gut told you from the start… that red flag, that warning signal … was always there in the shadows, but you chose to be forever the optimist. Be careful ‘cause leopards can’t change their spots…
